While I’m looking for a job Can I live in your basement? I’d move there in an instant You wait and see I just came from the doc And I’m high on anaesthetic Do I sound pathetic? Will you check on me? You are my Only friend My beautiful Michelle A barbeque In your backyard Is all I’m living for Living off the grid It is better for my brainwaves I do my best to save The last of me Lying underground I can get some sleep here Rent is pretty cheap here You can have my key I’m so glad you were born And I’m thankful to have met you I’m sorry I didn’t get you A birthday card When you’re back in town Do not be a stranger I’ve got no chance to change her Why do I try so hard?

Vines of ivy weave around eroding halls barely holding on the moldy sagging ceiling heaves Scattering like leaves the shingles fall and mingle while a single willow bends its boughs to grieve Sometimes the summit’s worth the climb Sometimes our fantasies unwind After church bells play their songs Now those days are gone The horizon smiles on the scenery makes a valley Evergreens reach out for a country mile To be a child climbing in those trees again, could it be that fantasy will hold me for a while We’ll hold the ceremony on the lawn Look at Jackie Draper in her dress Let’s fetch a yellow string to be your ring And I’ll help you tie it on Now those days are gone The dusty breeze blows through an open door into the corner where ordinary dandelions grow I have never known A weed to be as pretty or as seemingly at ease, they’re looking quite at home

Down into my daydreams, that’s one place I’ll never go And the people I won’t meet there don’t tell me things I’ll never know I’ll go it alone, and I miss that place, but those faces are far behind You filled a fancy tower full of flowers and really fine wine But I never could find the time Deep in my dreams there’s an army they’re slaving away all day Stacking the bricks up, higher and higher ‘til my dreams get carried away You won’t find a road to get there And I hung it all out on the line Hey, tomorrow, I only need one yesterday I didn’t know you were hollow I even shocked myself Your cup of life was empty And I was drinking to your health To your health So I go out counting flowers, It don’t bother me at all And my eyes were made for the nighttime so you know I never trip and fall But I tripped over my own ego When I thought I could read your mind

Majestic 04:25
“Haul on the bowline,” that’s what they used to say at the closing of the day The gamblin’ boys would hang their drippin’ raincoats down below decks and lose their next month’s paycheck When summer breeze came from the east we’d put to port at New York and get our feet on shore Then, Lord, we’d carry on all night; drink ‘til we was ailing But it was better when we were sailing Sail on, Majestic, for the borderline Running rum and moonshine Sail on, Majestic, blowing through my mind Those were simpler times The sky was growing dark, the captain told us, “boys, be brave, and we’ll make Montego Bay,” It was no less that a hurricane, and we lost most our load So we toasted what the ocean stole So times were good, and times were bad, at times we didn’t know How near we were to Davy Jones But we weathered it together, singing shanties like a symphony And hijinks on the high seas Long ago, good ship Majestic ran her final run and now she’s rotting in the sun I never thought I’d be an old man, oh, my life is long and I can’t get my raincoat on But brine is in my blood, so when I die, don’t bury me For I could not rest peacefully Just put me on Majestic, we set sail for eternity where forever we’ll be seaworthy

Honeychile 04:21
There’s a fire in the cane North of Kingston town The whole Great House Is bound to burn down But I’ll get by I’ve got my books from my cellar room America, I’m coming soon Oh, Honeychile, You’re in my memory now Oh, Honeychile, You’re in my memory now When I look in the glass It’s all I can see My twisted face, My deformity But when I’m with my friends, Black widow in a box Necklace a black racer, I’m safe as Fort Knox Hold on Hold on to me now Hold on Hold on to me now Like two spoons in a drawer You’re all I’ve been waiting for Like two spoons in a drawer You’re all I’ve been waiting for I’m not naïve I’m no stranger to goodbyes I believe in dragons, And I’ve looked in their eyes But I am new to this loving game Play with me now, And remember my name
